String Theory

from Surreal Talk by Tom Swifty

about

This just might be my favorite song I've ever written. It's certainly a go-to choice as an introduction to my music. I originally wrote the verses to another, less polished beat by my old homie DJ Elsewhere from Matching Wits, with a much darker hook, but then Elsewhere sent me this beat and I realized it was much more interesting to juxtapose the dark content of the verses with a more upbeat feel, so I rewrote the hook and I think the song is much better now. I've rapped faster, and I've rapped more aggressively, but I don't think I've ever gone in harder than the third verse on this song.
