The EZRAnomicon (Interlude) f. DJ Elsewhere

from Nursery Rhymes: Clean(er) Cuts for the Kids by Tom Swifty

about

This is the only instrumental track in my solo discography. Produced by Tankhead of DRS/Strange Matter (and every project I pulled the material for this compilation from) was the one who originally came up with the idea of doing a horror movie-themed album called The EZRAnomicon (my real name is Ezra Stead, in case you were wondering), and it went through a lot of changes between when he first suggested the concept in 2008 and when it was finally realized in 2012. DJ Elsewhere of DRS/Matching Wits provided the turntablism, which samples news footage of the 2011 shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, which perfectly tied into the ideas of real-life "righteous" monsters that is central to the album's concept.

NOTES FOR PARENTS: This one is totally clean, but possibly too dark and scary for small kids. My nephew was probably five when he first heard it and he didn't like it. I think he called it Halloween music, though, which is what we were going for.
